ENSMOV plus

Exchange of knowledge for EU energy efficiency policies to achieve energy savings in accordance with the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED)

One of the European Union's goals is to significantly improve energy efficiency. The Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) stipulates that EU Member States must make a contribution to increasing energy efficiency at national level. It also stipulates which tool should be used to make this contribution. The states can introduce an energy efficiency obligation system or implement alternative strategic measures (e.g. energy taxes, subsidies for energy efficiency measures, etc.).

ENSMOV plus (Evaluation, Quantification and Strengthening of the Implementation of the Policies and EM&V under the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) supports policy makers and implementing bodies for the EED in EU Member States and beyond in the further development, implementation and design, monitoring and evaluation of their national energy efficiency policies under the Energy Efficiency Directive.

ENSMOV plus supports policy makers and implementing bodies for the EED in EU Member States and beyond in the further development, implementation and design, monitoring and evaluation of their national energy efficiency policies under the Energy Efficiency Directive.

  • Enable and expand the exchange of knowledge and experience between Member States in the implementation of policy instruments.
  • Develop tailor-made resources for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policy instruments (energy obligation schemes and alternative measures).
  • Support national authorities in monitoring, reporting and reviewing their energy efficiency policies.

Increased exchange of experience and the creation of support materials (such as best practice examples and guidelines) will ensure that energy efficiency policies under the EED make an important contribution to achieving European climate and energy targets.
