SaveEnergyTogether
SaveEnergyTogether
SaveEnergyTogether is an EU-project that aims to help consumers plan and implement simple and affordable measures that can achieve significant energy savings, and to influence decision-makers in planning energy reduction measures by providing data on changing consumer habits and energy savings.
SaveEnergyTogether wants to empower decision makers at all levels of government to prioritize emergency energy efficiency interventions (EEEIs) based on real-life experiences from large-scale pilots involving over 6.6 million households. These interventions focus on behavioural changes and low-cost energy efficiency measures, aiming to minimize upfront investments.
SaveEnergyTogether develops new procedures, best practices, and cost-benefit methodologies for emergency energy efficiency interventions, with a focus on households, small businesses, and building owners. Through dedicated pilots and data gathering, SaveEnergyTogether will create blueprints for decision makers on how to campaign for simple and affordable energy saving measures in their country or region. The project aims to have a lasting impact, potentially saving 170 GWh/year in primary energy across the EU by influencing the behaviour of energy consumers.
The main objectives of SaveEnergyTogether are to
- Empower European consumers, municipalities, and regions to implement straightforward and cost-effective energy efficiency measures in a sustainable and efficient manner.
- Reduce the financial strain of high energy costs on all consumers, especially targeting those with low and middle incomes and those vulnerable to or experiencing energy poverty.
- Enhance and strengthen collaboration with local and regional groups and organizations to boost sustainable energy efficiency initiatives and foster social cohesion within communities.
- Demonstrate how villages, towns, cities, and regions across the EU are addressing the energy crisis through simple energy-saving measures, contributing to the efficiency first principle.
- Transform and improve regional, national, and European energy efficiency policymaking, ensuring that villages, towns, cities, and regions have a stronger voice and are more effective in implementing urgently needed energy-saving policies, such as the European Green Deal and REPowerEU.
The SaveEnergyTogether consortium is made up of organisations from Austria, Lithuania, Germany, Portugal, and Slovenia working in the fields of energy efficiency, environmental protection, and consumer protection.
